We're back! It's February, and although it's cold outside, it's time to start thinking about mushrooms again. This year we're starting things off right with a lecture about crust fungi with Tom Bigelow, president of the New York Mycological Society.
If you don't know what a crust fungus is, then obviously this is the lecture for you. I can guarantee - virtually guarantee - that every time you take a walk in the woods, you see crust fungi. They're ubiquitous, and if you attend this lecture, you'll soon know why.
We're also going to learn a little about the Tibetan medicinal mushroom Yartsa Gunbu (Ophiocordyceps sinensis), which reportably cures your yin; your yang; and most everything else that ails you. And as if that weren't enough, we're going to have a hen of he woods tasting. Come out and join us, this is going to be a fun evening.
