MAW Monthly Meeting: October

  • 02 Oct 2018
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Kensington Park Library, 4201 Knowles Ave, Kensington, MD 20895

For MAW's October meeting, we're going to learn how mushrooms are being used in agriculture and bio-remediation.  Max Dubansky will be our presenter, and he's the owner operator of Backbone Farm in Garrett County, MD where he commercially cultivates several varieties of mushrooms (among many other products).  Backbone Farm also teaches classes on mushroom cultivation, and field identification of wild mushrooms, so if you're ever in that neck of the woods ...

Max is also a mainstay at the West Virginia Mushroom Club's annual foray, providing lectures and demonstrations on both cultivation and bioremediation.

If you'd like to know some more about Backbone Farm, here's a link to a nice article in Mother Earth News.

FYI - Max will have some dried mushrooms and medicinal mushroom tinctures for sale, so bring cash along if you'd like to purchase anything.
